A Poem: Big

Kindness allows you
to be bigger than you are.

Kindness means you can do those things
that seem too hard.

Draw a wider circle –
forgive.

Do it for kindness,
if not for yourself.

And you might find kindness
has done for you

what nothing else could,
to open the heart.

Kindness,

a circle as wide as the heart
can contemplate

on its best days,

and then some.

Don’t you want to be that big?
