A Poem: Helping me to See

Because you exist
I no longer need to turn in circles.

Because you help me to see,
I need only turn, turn 90 degrees,
look into your eyes,
see us both reflected.

Only need to stop, still
for love to find us
here at the river’s edge
where the water meets the sky.

Because you believe,
keep faith in me,
I only need take your hand,
to step forth assured,

to watch the world
from this one bound perspective,
this moment where we stand
entwined,

less armed with foreknowledge
than a lovestruck blindness,
that melds colours,
tempers the hard edge,

marries the sunset
to a burning sea.
