Ah, God does a new thing
and tells us not to worry.
He tries to tell us in the
rounding sun,
the dark chased away.
And if we doubt,
he tells us in the recurring themes
of restoration,
the cycles of the days
and seasons.
I know I get up early
in the dark,
ruminating,
thinking it’s still yesterday.
And God sits me down
with his Word
like a sun just risen –
a shore line washed
by the tide.
