A Poem: Love Wonderings

I wonder what love looks like from the inside?
I wonder how it is we decide who has mattered,
and what the heart thinks of our thoughts,
our feelings?
How each of us appear from within,
where all of us are undressed.
I wonder if the heart keeps its own records.
And one day when staring at the sea
from a quiet house, a lone window,
or weeding in the garden, listening to the birds—
I wonder if it will suddenly come to us,
what everyone meant.
And we will be like a heart turned inside out,
reading all the writing left behind,
the signatures ingrained.
