A Poem: Body of Water

You move in water.

The sea that accommodates you,
each other.

You move with the grace of angels
in this body of love.

That does not rush to conquer,
but laps at the feet of your neighbour,
woos him in.

Makes us each as much,
or as little room,
as we feel comfortable.

We ever think
we teach ourselves to swim,

whereas perhaps
the body of grace

is what holds us up,

this buoyant weight
in which we gently stroke,

which takes our neighbour in its arms.
