“If our understanding of grace is small, our confession will be small– reluctant, hesitant, hedged with excuses and qualifications, full of fear of punishment. But great grace creates an honest confession. Honest confession clears the way for God’s radically amazing grace.”
Max Lucado
“Most of us were taught that God would love us if and when we change. In fact, God loves you so that you can change. What empowers change, what makes you desirous of change is the experience of love. It is that inherent experience of love that becomes the engine of change.”
Richard Rohr
“Home is where you hear love within the stillness.”
Raquel Franco
MY PRAYER for us today is confession, as a balm to our confusion. ‘Honest confession clears the way’ Max Lucado says. Clears the mind. Just as we talk to a friend, and our words, heard back in our own ears start to make sense, so honest communication with God leads us to deeper understanding of ourselves, leads us to a greater self-compassion, reflecting, even if only in part, his grace and love for us, and enabling us to receive it. Today may we come to him, for peace, love and reconciliation.
I COME
I come to you,
as to the softest landing,
on a cold night.
The pillow
of your chest
moist with my tears.
Holding me until
there is only peace.
Home is here.
