A Poem: Blooming

I want to be like the flower,
rooted.

Who has seen a flower
that has fought its bloom,

has wished itself
not to grow.

Who has seen a flower
that has not had everything

come to it,

though it has stayed rooted
in place.

Has not seen the wind,
the sun,

all the seasons
visit in turn.

Yes, I want to be like the flower,

not wishing to be anywhere
different.

But rooted here,

opening wide
at the bud.
